Full job description

We are looking for a reliable and motivated General Farm Worker with a strong focus on milking to join our team. You will play an essential role in ensuring the health, welfare and productivity of our dairy herd, working within a supportive and experienced team.

Key Responsibilities

Milking & Livestock Care

Carry out milking to a high standard, ensuring cow welfare and milk quality at all times
Monitor cows during milking for signs of illness or injury and report any concerns immediately
Follow all livestock health, hygiene and biosecurity protocols
Handle animals calmly, safely and respectfully

General Farm Duties

Maintain a clean, tidy and well-organised milking parlour and farm environment
Clean and maintain equipment, ensuring faults or breakages are reported promptly
Support daily livestock routines and general farm operations
Work collaboratively with staff across multiple farm sites

Experience in milking is highly desirable, but training can be provided for the right candidate. You will need to have a positive attitude and willingness to learn, good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team and have a strong commitment to animal welfare and farm standards.

This role is working 5 days a week on a two-shift rotation basis (05.00 – 15.30 and 15.30 – 02.00). You will be required to work every other weekend.

Pay starts at £31,517 per annum. A room within shared accommodation can be provided with this position.
