Carer required in Ipswich

To support a child under 10 with learning difficulties, ASD and SEN
6 hours available per week
£12.71 per hour

Job description

Must have the right to work in the UK to apply for this role, sponsorship not available.

Job purpose

The purpose of this role is to support E who is under 10 with learning difficulties and ASD. You will be supporting E both at home and out and about to attend day activities, this can be swimming, soft play, sensory groups, and stay & play.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Taking E out and about and getting her food out
Eating out with E
Cleaning E’s room
Personal care including changing E’s nappy and clothes
Duties may vary from day to day

Additional Details

We vape, we don’t smoke, pet free home. If child lock is on, you’re all good to go. We have a car seat. E has moments that can be challenging at times.
E smears her stool and urinates on the floor every day, so we clean her room top to bottom every night.

Essential Criteria

Experience supporting children with learning difficulties, ASD and SEN. E is non-verbal yet is getting better each day.
Attitude and approach are just as important as experience for us.
First aid training is essential. E has no sense of danger so constant supervision is needed, especially near roads etc.

Summary terms and conditions

Hours, days and times of work: 6 hours per week in school holidays and weekends.
Pay rate: £12.71 per hour
Annual leave: The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work normally done during 5.6 weeks (statutory entitlement).
Expenses: You will be reimbursed for prior agreed expenses incurred as part of the role.
Sick pay: I do not operate a private sick pay scheme but provided you meet the eligibility criteria, you may be entitled to Statutory Sick Pay (SSP).
Pension: I do not operate a private pension scheme but I will fulfil my statutory obligations via the NEST pension scheme.

Background check: A satisfactory Enhanced with Barred List Disclosure and Barring Service check is required for this position.
