Full job description

Overview

Join our dynamic IT support team as an IT Helpdesk Assistant, where your enthusiasm and technical expertise will drive exceptional support experiences for our users. In this role, you will be the frontline responder to a wide range of IT issues, ensuring seamless operation of hardware, software, and network systems. Your proactive approach and problem-solving skills will empower our organization to stay connected, secure, and productive every day.

Responsibilities

Provide first-line technical support via help desk tickets, phone calls, and email inquiries for hardware, software, and network issues
Troubleshoot desktop support issues across Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems, including software troubleshooting and hardware diagnostics
Assist with user account management using Active Directory and help maintain user access controls
Support network infrastructure including computer networking concepts such as LAN, VPN, DNS, TCP/IP, firewalls, and TCP protocols
Manage software deployment and updates using tools like SCCM and ServiceNow; document incidents and resolutions accurately in BMC Remedy or Jira
Configure and troubleshoot computer hardware components and peripherals to ensure optimal performance

Experience

Strong knowledge of operating systems including Windows, macOS, and Linux platforms
Familiarity with computer networking fundamentals such as LAN/WAN, DNS, VPNs, firewalls, TCP/IP protocols
Hands-on experience supporting Microsoft Office applications and enterprise tools like ServiceNow or Jira
Ability to diagnose and resolve software issues efficiently while maintaining excellent customer service skills
Knowledge of Active Directory management and familiarity with BMC Remedy or similar ticketing systems is preferred
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users

Pay: £28,000.00 per year
