Overview

We are seeking a professional HGV Class 2 Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating a flatbed lorry to deliver goods across various locations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a passion for commercial driving and delivering exceptional service. The position requires a responsible, organised individual with a strong commitment to safety and efficiency.

Duties

Safely operate a Class 2 HGV lorry, primarily flatbed vehicles, ensuring compliance with all road safety regulations and company policies
Load and secure goods onto the flatbed, ensuring safe transportation and delivery
Plan delivery routes efficiently to meet deadlines and optimise fuel consumption
Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any defects or issues promptly
Assist with loading and unloading goods at various delivery points, adhering to health and safety standards
Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs
Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding delivery schedules or any unforeseen delays
Adhere to all legal requirements regarding driving hours, tachograph regulations, and road safety

Qualifications

Valid HGV Class 2 licence with a clean driving record
Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed vehicles or similar lorries
Delivery driver experience preferred, with knowledge of route planning and time management skills
Good understanding of health and safety regulations related to commercial driving and cargo securing
Organised, reliable, and able to work independently under minimal supervision
Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members
Physically fit to handle loading/unloading tasks and long hours on the road

This role is ideal for motivated drivers seeking a professional environment where safety, organisation, and customer service are valued.

Pay: £16.00-£17.00 per hour
