Overview

Dispenser (Permanent) – Stow Health Centre

Stow & Lauder Health are looking for a motivated and reliable individual to join our friendly rural GP Practice Team. The role will mainly be dispensing duties, and, on occasion, Admin/Reception duties. This post is permanent - 19 hours/week (2 x days to be agreed) – but needs to be someone who can help out with cover for AL/SL etc.

We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, a good IT knowledge, and a positive and organised approach to work. Previous dispensing experience is desirable. We offer a very friendly and supportive working environment.

Salary of £26,869 (pro-rata).

Duties

Dispense medications accurately and efficiently
Prepare prescriptions by measuring, packaging, and labelling medicines in accordance with legal and safety standards
Support medication administration processes, including verifying prescriptions and ensuring proper storage
Provide excellent patient care by answering queries and offering guidance on medication usage under supervision
Maintain accurate records of dispensed medicines and patient interactions
Ensure the pharmacy environment adheres to health and safety regulations and cleanliness standards
Assist with stock management, including inventory checks and reordering supplies as needed
Support administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and updating patient records

Requirements

Previous experience as a Dispenser or in a similar role is highly desirable.
Knowledge of medication administration procedures and pharmacy software systems
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to minimise errors
Excellent communication skills for effective patient interaction and team collaboration
Ability to work accurately under pressure within a fast-paced environment
A recognised qualification or training in pharmacy practice is preferred but not essential
Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to legal regulations regarding medicines management

Pay: £26,869.00 per year
