Full job description

Job Title: Collections Specialist

Location: Kilmarnock Town Centre

Salary: £26,227.50 per annum in line with Real Living Wage

Job Type: Permanent

Hours: Full-time. 37.5 hours per week.

The Role:

As a Collections Specialist, you’ll join a dynamic, target-driven team that values energy, ambition, and a positive work environment. Your role involves handling inbound and outbound calls to engage with members of the public, negotiating payment solutions for outstanding debts either in full or by setting a suitable arrangement. You will manage your own portfolio of accounts, making appropriate recovery and legal action decisions. With ongoing training, mentorship, and clear progression paths, we’re committed to helping you succeed and grow.

What We’re Looking For:

Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
Resilience and ability to handle challenging conversations.
Self-motivated, with excellent time management and organisation skills.
Target and results driven.
Ability to build trust and relationships quickly.
Experience of a target-driven role or negotiating finances is desirable.
Positive attitude with strong work ethics.
Good understanding and knowledge of GDPR.

What We Offer (N.B. Permanent Staff):

Competitive salary - £26,227.50 basic salary per annum in line with Real Living Wage
Flexible Working – 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday) on a shift rota. A sample shift rota: One late shift 10:00am to 6:30pm, 2 shifts 8:30am to 5pm, 2 shifts 9am to 5:30pm and one in four Fridays 9:30am to 6pm.
Annual Leave Allowance – Generous annual leave allowance of 32 days increasing with length of service. This is inclusive of 6 bank holidays.

Extensive Training Programme – We provide our new employees with a robust training and induction programme, along with ongoing support and development to help you grow and succeed throughout your career. The initial induction lasts between 4-6 weeks between the hours of 8:30am to 5:30pm.
