About the Role

We are a modern law firm based in Glasgow,, specialising in immigration law. We provide services to a wide range of clients throughout the UK and overseas. The firm is undergoing a period of expansion and are now seeking an Associate Solicitor to join our team.

Working Pattern:

This is an in person role. Hours are 9am - 5pm, Monday to Friday

Job Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a varied caseload of asylum, immigration and appeal matters for private clients throughout the UK. You will be expected to provide high-quality legal advice and representation, demonstrating a strong understanding of the challenges faced by vulnerable clients.

In addition to casework, you will play a key role in the development of junior fee earners, including trainee solicitors. You will provide guidance on legal strategy, and contribute to training and knowledge-sharing initiatives within the department. This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor looking to take the next step in their career.

Key Responsibilities:

Independently manage a diverse caseload of immigration and asylum matters.
Deliver clear and accurate legal advice to clients with professionalism and empathy.
Prepare detailed and timely submissions, representations, and appeals to the Home Office and Immigration & Asylum Tribunal.
Conduct casework in compliance with guidelines and firm policies.
Keep up to date with relevant legal developments and contribute to best practice sharing within the team.
Mentor junior team members as required.

Essential

5+ Years PQE and hold a current practicing certificate in Scotland.
Excellent knowledge of UK immigration and asylum law and procedures.
Strong advocacy, communication, and organisational skills.
Ability to manage a high-volume caseload efficiently and with attention to detail.
Commitment to access to justice and supporting vulnerable individuals.
