Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead and manage all site Quality Assurance activities, ensuring products consistently meet food safety, legal, customer and internal quality standards.
· Collaborate with the Quality and Procurement teams to continuously monitor product quality using established systems, processes, and performance metrics.
· Work closely with Team Leaders and Quality Controllers to identify quality issues, improve production processes, and maintain product specifications.
· Working with the technical team to analyse customer feedback, depot warnings, rejections, and complaints, implementing effective corrective and preventative actions to drive continuous improvement.
· Manage and develop the Quality team, including recruitment, training, rota planning, holiday management, and performance development.
· Coach and mentor team members to foster a collaborative, high-performing culture focused on delivering quality KPIs and ensuring products remain within specification.
· Produce season-end reviews and customer quality reports, analysing KPI performance and recommending improvement opportunities to support continuous improvement initiatives.
· Assist in the development and monitoring of Quality Improvement Plans (QIPs) and quality performance targets.
· Identify opportunities to enhance quality systems, processes, and ways of working, leading improvement projects through to successful implementation.
· Support customer visits and liaise with customer depots as required, maintaining strong working relationships and customer confidence.
· Lead the Quality Plan team, facilitating and chairing quarterly review meetings and ensuring agreed actions are completed.
· Partner with the Technical team to complete supplier end-of-season scorecards, providing insights and recommendations to support supplier performance improvement.
· Ad hoc off-site visits to 3rd party UK packers may be required during the months of June- August
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
· Experience in a QA, Quality or Technical Management role within food manufacturing.
· Experience with fresh fruit and dried products preferred.
· Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop teams, supporting employee development, knowledge sharing, and continuous performance improvement.
· Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and internal systems
· Strong understanding of HACCP, food safety legislation and quality management systems
· Capable of influencing and collaborating across departments to promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement throughout the business
