Full job description

Lawcris are a major distributor of wood based panel products in the UK. We are looking for a HR & Payroll Officer to join the HR department on a part- time basis.

Role Overview

We have an opportunity to join our busy and fast paced HR team as a HR & Payroll Officer, based in our Leeds HQ. The successful individual will be key in supporting our team with a particular focus on the transactional elements of HR & Payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance across a range of HR/Payroll activities.

Duties will include:

Daily monitoring of attendance and recording of overtime and additional payments to staff.
Managing the on-boarding process for new starters, including collating new starter documentation and setting up on mandatory training.
Creating and maintaining employee electronic records.
Assisting with the accurate processing of monthly payroll.
Providing effective support to the HR Manager.
Ensuring the HR System is updated with relevant employee changes including salary changes, changes to terms and conditions, line manger changes.
Ownership of the annual training programme, recording completed training, booking external training and generating purchase orders.
Manage and respond to day-to-day HR/Payroll queries.
Providing first line advice and guidance to line managers.

What you will bring:

Good knowledge of employment law and HR practices.
Previous experience within a fast paced HR/payroll function is essential.
Detailed knowledge of payroll processing.
Good knowledge of employment law and HR practices.
Previous experience within a fast pace administration/HR function is necessary.
Knowledge of integrated HR/TMS /Payroll systems. We use One Advanced.
Excellent IT/computing skills.
CIPD qualified (level 3) minimum.
Strong organisational skills being able to manage a varied workload ensuring deadlines are met.
Strong communications skills.
Presentation skills.
Experience of delivering internal training would be an advantage.
Can demonstrate ability to listen and understand keep all information private and confidential.
Have a confidential and professional approach.
A good team player.
