Office & Accounts Administrator

Location: Knaresborough, North Yorkshire

Hours: Full-time 40 hrs , Monday to Friday

Salary: Competitive £28500 to £31000 dependent on experience.

About Us

We are a friendly, close-knit and ambitious team within a rapidly growing business. We’re looking for an organised and proactive Office & Accounts Administrator who enjoys variety, takes pride in keeping things running smoothly and would like to grow with the company.

The Role

This is a varied role that combines office administration with finance support, making it ideal for someone who enjoys a fast-paced working environment.As our Office & Accounts Administrator, you will play an important role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the business. You’ll provide administrative support across the office while assisting our accounts team with a range of financial administration tasks.

No two days are the same, so we’re looking for someone who is organised, adaptable, and enjoys taking ownership of their work.

Key Responsibilities

Office Administration:

⁠Oversee the day-to-day running of the office to ensure everything operates efficiently.
Provide administrative support to staff and management.
Prepare correspondence, documents and reports.
Answer incoming telephone calls, manage emails and direct enquiries to the appropriate team member.
⁠Maintain office filing systems and company records.
Order and manage office supplies and staff uniforms.
Coordinate meetings, appointments and travel arrangements.
Assist with organising company events and team activities.

Accounts Administration:

⁠Provide financial administrative support to the accounts department.
⁠Post bank transactions accurately onto the accounting system.
Process supplier invoices and obtain internal approval before payment.
⁠Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies.
Support with credit control by issuing customer statements and payment reminders.
Respond professionally to supplier and customer account queries with support from the Accounts Manager.

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

⁠Has previous administration experience (accounts experience would be an advantage but full training can be provided).
⁠Has excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
⁠Is confident communicating by phone, email and in person.
Can prioritise their workload and work independently.
⁠Is comfortable using Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel.
Has a positive, proactive attitude and enjoys working as part of a small office team.
Holding a full UK driving licence may be of benefit although not a requirement.
⁠Competitive salary.
