Full job description

Here at Tay Valley Vets, we are looking for a Senior Receptionist to join our friendly and dedicated team.

We pride ourselves on our positive work ethos and look forward to welcoming a new colleague. Based in the heart of beautiful Perthshire, our practice offers the perfect balance of town and countryside, and has been voted the 5th best place to live in the UK.

We are looking for a reliable, organised and enthusiastic individual with significant experience in delivering excellent customer service. You will have outstanding communication skills, a professional telephone manner and the ability to remain calm and compassionate in a busy environment.

As one of the main points of contact for our clients, you’ll share in both the happy and difficult days. This includes supporting pet owners who may be worried, emotional or grieving. We are looking for someone who can provide compassionate and reassuring service while remaining professional and composed under pressure.

Key responsibilities

Providing exceptional customer service to our clients.
Answering incoming telephone calls and dealing with client queries.
Regularly monitoring incoming emails, responding promptly or forwarding them to the appropriate team member as required.
Supporting colleagues and working effectively as part of a busy team.
Mentoring and supporting less experienced members of the reception team.
Leading a small team of dedicated receptionists.

Working hours

This is a full-time, Monday to Friday position, working on a weekly alternating shift pattern:

Week 1: 8:00am – 4:00pm
Week 2: 11:30am – 7:30pm

There is also a 1-in-8 weekend rota, with weekend hours as follows:

Saturday: 8:30am – 12:00pm
Sunday: 9:00am – 12:30pm
