Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Facilities Maintenance Operative to join our team. This role involves maintaining and repairing a wide range of equipment and infrastructure within our premises to ensure smooth and efficient operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. This position offers an opportunity to utilise your mechanical, electrical, and supervisory expertise in a dynamic environment committed to safety and quality standards.

Duties

Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on care equipment, electrical systems, and building infrastructure.
Repair or replace faulty components using skills in plumbing, electrical work, or mechanical maintenance.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections for compliance purposes.
Assist with installation of new equipment or upgrades, ensuring all work adheres to safety standards.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests from Home Manager
Ensure the work area is kept clean, organised, and safe at all times.

Experience

Proven experience in facilities maintenance or a similar role within an industrial or commercial environment.
Strong knowledge of general building maintenance.
Experience in plumbing, painting, joinery highly desirable.
Prior experience in a maintenance setting is preferred.
Excellent communication skills in English for clear reporting and teamwork.
Customer service orientation with the ability to liaise effectively with colleagues across departments.

This role requires a proactive approach with strong problem-solving abilities and a commitment to safety standards. Candidates should be organised, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship.

Pay: £13.45 per hour
