We're hiring a National Account Manager to drive our launch into retail. It's a brand-new role, and a big one. We've built a decade of momentum online, with over 500 million shakes sold and 2 million customers choosing us directly, and now we're taking that same energy into retail for the first time. You'll thrive in this role if you like winning new business: knocking down the doors of the leading supermarket retailers, earning a place on the shelf, and then owning that account end to end.

Some of the early groundwork is already taking shape, but this is a brilliant, high-profile role within the business, built for someone who loves winning business, owns accounts end to end, has a genuine passion for retail FMCG, and wants to help lead and steer Protein Works into this huge next chapter for our brand.

It's a high-visibility seat at the table, reporting directly to our Chief Product Officer and working closely with them from day one. The way you build this will shape retail at Protein Works for years to come.

Key Duties

Win and own new retail listings end to end: break into grocery, health, and specialist retailers for the first time, then manage and grow every account once it's live.
Build relationships with buyers and category managers across multiple categories , walking into the room at director level and cascading delivery down through category teams.
Take full ownership of the P&L for your retail accounts: the revenue, the margin, and the results.
Drive promotional and investment planning for retail accounts, shaping plans and spend alongside the wider commercial team.
Lead Joint Business Planning (JBP) with key retail accounts, aligning on shared goals and growth opportunities backed by category insight and data.
Work hand in hand with operations, supply chain, marketing, and NPD to get every product launch and range plan landed on time and in full.
Report on retail account performance against target, giving senior leadership a clear, sharp view of progress and priorities.
Own the product range, pricing, and promotional plans that maximise distribution and profitability across your accounts.

Ideal Candidate

5+ years' experience in field sales, business development, or national account management, and a genuine appetite for retail.
A track record of winning and growing retail listings with grocery, health, or specialist retailers, ideally across multiple categories.
Real P&L ownership under your belt: you know what it takes to hit revenue and profit targets, not just chase them.
Experience leading Joint Business Planning with retail accounts, comfortable being the one steering the conversation.
The confidence to walk into a room with senior or director-level stakeholders and negotiate like you belong there, then cascade that relationship down through category teams.
A sharp communicator who can influence and negotiate at senior level, and get people to back your plan.
An entrepreneurial self-starter who gets a buzz from building something from the ground up in a fast-paced environment.
