The Role
We're looking for a skilled CNC Programmer/Setter/Operator with experience of CNC Fixed Head or Multi-Tasking Lathes. Training on specific machines can be provided for the right candidate.
The successful applicant will be responsible for producing high-precision components from a variety of materials, ranging from low to high production volumes while maintaining the highest standards of quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Program, set and operate CNC Fixed Head or Multi-Tasking Lathes (Fanuc controls).
- Produce first-off components and carry out in-process inspections.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Select suitable tooling, workholding and cutting parameters.
- Optimise machining processes and reduce cycle times where possible.
- Make tool offset adjustments and carry out routine machine maintenance.
- Use precision measuring equipment to ensure components meet specification.
- Maintain high housekeeping standards and follow all health and safety procedures.
- Work closely with production, engineering and quality teams to support continuous improvement.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience programming, setting and operating CNC Fixed Head or Multi-Tasking Lathes.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and machining tolerances.
- Experience using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers and gauges.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- A commitment to producing work of the highest quality.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with Star machines.
- Experience using Fanuc or Star controls.
- Offline programming using CAD/CAM software.
- Experience machining stainless steel, titanium, Inconel and other exotic materials.

Working Hours
Monday to Thursday: 8:00am - 5:00pm
Friday: 8:00am - 1:00pm
