Job Overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Facilities Assistant to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organized environment across our facilities. Your energy and dedication will ensure that our workspace remains welcoming and functional, supporting the overall efficiency of our operations. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a thriving organization while developing your skills in facilities management.

Responsibilities

Clean and sanitise offices, kitchens, dining areas, restrooms, public spaces, and windows.
Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and carry out general housekeeping tasks.
Manage waste disposal, including emptying rubbish and recycling bins.
Replenish supplies such as toilet paper, soap, paper towels, and air fresheners.
Complete minor maintenance tasks, including changing light bulbs and basic repairs.
Undertake outdoor maintenance where required, including grass cutting, shrub trimming, walkway clearance, and snow removal.
Assist with site security by inspecting facilities, reporting repairs, and opening/locking buildings when required.
Carry out periodic deep cleaning tasks such as floor waxing and vent cleaning.
Set up and clear down rooms for hires, meetings, and events, including arranging tables and chairs.

Experience

Prior janitorial or commercial cleaning experience is preferred
Experience working in busy environments is a plus, demonstrating familiarity with specialized cleaning standards
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness standards
Ability to follow safety guidelines and handle cleaning chemicals responsibly
Good communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
