Job Type: Permanent / Full-time
Hours: 37.5 hours per week – Monday to Sunday as rostered

Working Pattern:

Standard shift: 8:30am – 4:30pm
Goods Bay cover: 1:30pm – 4:30pm daily (within standard shift)
Stores break cover: 10:00am – 10:30am
Full Goods Bay shift (when required): 5:30am – 1:30pm (to cover leave/absence)

The role:

We are currently looking to recruit a Stores Assistant to support the Procurement team by providing an efficient and customer-focused supply chain and distribution service across The London Clinic.

The role involves managing the receipt, storage, and distribution of goods, maintaining stock levels, and ensuring accurate record-keeping. The postholder will also support the Goods Bay operations, ensuring deliveries are checked, processed, and distributed efficiently while maintaining high standards of safety and organisation.

Key Duties:

Provide a professional, customer-focused supply chain service to all departments.
Receive, check, and match incoming goods against delivery notes and purchase orders within the Goods Bay.
Distribute supplies across all departments, ensuring delivery notes are signed and recorded.
Process replenishment orders, pick stock, and deliver supplies across all Clinic locations.
Maintain agreed stock levels through daily checks in Central Stores and clinical areas.
Use handheld systems to monitor and replenish stock using exchange cart functionality.
Conduct rolling stock checks and report discrepancies.
Support stock control processes including stock rotation, replenishment, and returns.
Assist with product recalls and safety alerts.
Maintain accurate system data including stock locations and barcode labelling.
Respond to internal and external enquiries regarding stock and product availability.
Communicate product changes, shortages, and source suitable alternatives where needed.
Build strong working relationships with internal teams and external suppliers.
Support wider Procurement team activities and attend departmental meetings.
Deputise for Senior Storekeepers where required.
Participate in annual stock count (minimum one weekend per year).
Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and maintain a clean, safe working environment.
Complete mandatory training and develop knowledge of medical and surgical products.

Skills and Experience:

Good basic level of education, including English and Mathematics
Working knowledge or experience in a stores, logistics, or purchasing environment
Understanding of stock control procedures (stock rotation, replenishment, stocktake, returns)
Good organisational skills with a logical and methodical approach
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
Ability to follow instructions accurately and work to deadlines
Good IT skills including MS Office
Ability to build effective working relationships and manage workloads
