Demi Chef de Partie — Grace & Savour (Michelin Starred)
Hampton-in-Arden, Solihull | £33,100+ total starting package | 4-day week | Christmas, New Year & Easter off
Grace & Savour holds a Michelin star, 4 AA Rosettes and 3 Circles in the 360 Eat Guide — and we're the only Michelin-starred restaurant on Code Hospitality's Happiest Places to Work list. We think those two things belong together: cooking at the highest level, in a kitchen where people are treated properly.
We're looking for a Demi Chef de Partie who wants to learn their craft seriously — or an ambitious commis ready to step up.
What you get
- £29,100 salary plus £4,000–£4,500 in tips — a total starting package of £33,100+
- A genuine 4-day week. The days are long — around 54–56 hours across the four — but then you get three real days off, every single week
- Christmas, New Year and Easter off
- Real development: farm visits, dedicated development days, and regular dish projects where your ideas can make it onto the menu
- Progression that's earned, not scheduled. We promote from within, and it's based entirely on your development. You'll get regular one-to-one mentoring from Chef Director David Taylor: clear on what's expected, honest about where you're doing well, and you will leave a better cook, teammate and leader than you arrived
- Meals on duty and a team that will actually teach you
Where we are
Grace & Savour sits within the Hampton Manor estate in Hampton-in-Arden, a small village near Solihull. You'll need to be able to reliably commute here, or relocate before starting. There's a direct train to Birmingham city centre in 15 minutes (London is 1 hour 40), but being able to drive is a real advantage — the village is small, with limited affordable housing nearby, and we're not able to offer accommodation.
The kitchen
We're a 32-cover restaurant set inside a working walled kitchen garden. We serve a multi course tasting menu built around produce from our garden and a network of farmers, growers and fishermen across the British Isles who care for their land and seas. We run our own fermentation, foraging and preservation programme, and the team spends real time out on farms building the shortest supply chain we can. In 2023 Square Meal named us the No.1 restaurant in the UK.
If you want to learn where exceptional food actually comes from — not just how to plate it — this is the kitchen to do it in.
Who we're looking for
You don't need a Michelin CV. If you've cooked at Michelin or rosette level, brilliant — but what matters more is this:
- You do things properly. You're on time, your section is clean and organised, and your standards don't slip when no one's watching.
- You want to get better. You ask questions, take feedback on the chin, and want to be a noticeably better chef in twelve months than you are today.
- You keep your head in service. Ours is a calm, focused kitchen — but it's still Michelin-level pressure, and you bring energy and a positive attitude to it.
- You're a team player. Small brigade, tight team, everyone matters.
How to apply
Apply with your CV — that's it. We respond to every application within 48 hours, and if it looks like a fit we'll invite you in for a trial shift so you can see the kitchen (and we can see you) before anyone commits.
We look forward to meeting you.
