Overview

Duties

Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify mechanical issues using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools
Perform repairs and maintenance on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and other vehicle components with precision and care
Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques to disassemble, repair, replace parts, and reassemble vehicle systems
Read and interpret schematics and mechanical diagrams to troubleshoot complex problems effectively
Carry out heavy lifting tasks safely when handling engine parts or heavy components during repairs or maintenance procedures
Maintain detailed records of all work performed, including diagnostics, repairs, parts used, and time spent on each task
Provide excellent customer service by explaining repair needs clearly and ensuring customer satisfaction with the work completed

Skills

Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose issues accurately using schematics and technical manuals
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly processes for efficient repairs
Experience in vehicle maintenance, equipment repair, and routine servicing procedures
Ability to interpret schematics and mechanical diagrams for troubleshooting complex systems
Physical stamina for heavy lifting and working in various positions for extended periods
Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients about repairs and maintenance needs
Commitment to safety standards while performing repairs or working with heavy machinery
