Full job description

Accounts Assistant

Hillside Leisure UK Ltd are the UK’s leading campervan manufacturers and are a family run business based in Derby with over 20 years’ experience in the industry.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced accounts and admin assistant to join our accounts team. This opportunity will be ideal for someone who is looking to continue and expand on their career within accounts.

Working hours: 18 - 24 hours per week (over 3 -4 days).

- Available as Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 10am - 4pm.

Pay: £13.50 - £14.00 per hour (based on experience)

Start Date: ASAP

At least 5 years’ experience is essential when applying for this role.

Please note as part of this role, you will be required to work closely with the company accountant.

Main duties will include:

- Maintaining accurate accounts records.

- Processing payable and receivable invoices.

- Navigating and maintaining Xero accounting software.

- Managing vehicle stock book.

- Checking and managing supplier price increases and costs.

- Regular vehicle stock takes.

- All compliancy filing related to the accounts (inc FCA, companies house etc)

- Knowledge of margin scheme (preferred but not essential)

- Vehicle Registrations

- General admin roles.

Ad hoc duties:

- Completing ONS reports.

Required skills:

- Minimum of 5 years experience.

- Organisation skills and high attention to detail.

- Experience of Xero accounting software (or similar)

- Good communication skills (both internally within the business and externally)

- Ability to meet deadlines.

- Ability to liaise with other departments in the business

- IT skills (inc. word, excel, outlook etc)

- Ability to use initiative both independently and within a team.

- Previous experience as a bookkeeper is preferred but not essential.

- Previous experience in a similar role is essential.

Please note, during staff/colleague’s annual leave you may be required to work alternate days to your usual working week.

- GCSE English (grade 4/C)

- GCSE Maths (grade 4/C)
