Maths Tutor (KS2 – GCSE)

Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Maths Tutor to join our growing tuition centre. The successful candidate will deliver engaging, high-quality Maths lessons to students from Key Stage 2 to GCSE level, helping them build confidence, strengthen problem-solving skills, and achieve excellent academic results.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator who enjoys working in small groups and providing personalised support to students preparing for school assessments and GCSE examinations.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging Maths lessons for students from KS2 to GCSE.
Teach in line with the UK National Curriculum, covering topics appropriate to each student's ability and year group.
Prepare students for SATs, school assessments, and GCSE examinations.
Explain mathematical concepts clearly using a variety of teaching methods.
Identify students' strengths and areas for improvement, adapting lessons to meet individual learning needs.
Create a positive, supportive, and motivating learning environment.
Mark students' work and provide constructive feedback to students and parents where required.
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate attendance and lesson records.
Work collaboratively with the Centre Manager and other tutors to maintain high teaching standards.

Requirements

Degree in Mathematics or a related subject, or an equivalent qualification.
Previous experience teaching or tutoring students up to GCSE level.
Strong understanding of the UK National Curriculum and GCSE Maths requirements.
Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
Ability to simplify complex mathematical concepts and inspire confidence in learners.
Reliable, organised, and committed to helping students achieve their academic goals.
An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one) is desirable.
