Maths Tutor (KS2 – GCSE)
Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Maths Tutor to join our growing tuition centre. The successful candidate will deliver engaging, high-quality Maths lessons to students from Key Stage 2 to GCSE level, helping them build confidence, strengthen problem-solving skills, and achieve excellent academic results.
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator who enjoys working in small groups and providing personalised support to students preparing for school assessments and GCSE examinations.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging Maths lessons for students from KS2 to GCSE.
- Teach in line with the UK National Curriculum, covering topics appropriate to each student's ability and year group.
- Prepare students for SATs, school assessments, and GCSE examinations.
- Explain mathematical concepts clearly using a variety of teaching methods.
- Identify students' strengths and areas for improvement, adapting lessons to meet individual learning needs.
- Create a positive, supportive, and motivating learning environment.
- Mark students' work and provide constructive feedback to students and parents where required.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate attendance and lesson records.
- Work collaboratively with the Centre Manager and other tutors to maintain high teaching standards.
Requirements
- Degree in Mathematics or a related subject, or an equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience teaching or tutoring students up to GCSE level.
- Strong understanding of the UK National Curriculum and GCSE Maths requirements.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Ability to simplify complex mathematical concepts and inspire confidence in learners.
- Reliable, organised, and committed to helping students achieve their academic goals.
- An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one) is desirable.
