Salary: £26,971 – £30,339 (per annum)

35 hours per week

About the role:

This role is at the heart of our community. It’s about connection, compassion, and using your lived experience to make a genuine difference in people’s lives.

As a Harm Reduction Support Worker, you’ll be part of a proactive outreach team supporting people who use substances to stay safer, reduce harm, and move towards recovery in a way that feels right for them.

You’ll bring your own lived experience as a powerful tool — offering understanding, hope, and relatability that helps people feel seen, heard, and supported.

What You’ll Be Doing

Supporting People

Build trusting, authentic relationships with people in the community
Offer emotional, practical and peer-led support based on lived experience
Help people explore their goals, needs and choices without judgement
Support people to reduce risk and stay safer in their day-to-day lives

Harm Reduction & Health

Deliver harm reduction interventions tailored to individual needs
Provide accessible health information and education
Support people to access screening, treatment and other services
Help people recognise and reduce behaviours that may put them at risk

Connecting People to the Right Support

Link people into services such as housing, healthcare, recovery, and social care
Build and maintain strong relationships with partner organisations
Advocate for people and support them to navigate systems

Promoting Recovery & Peer Support

Encourage peer-led recovery and community connection
Share knowledge, encourage mutual support and build community networks
Use the CHIME recovery model (Hope, Identity, Meaning, Empowerment) in your work

Safe, Ethical Practice

Work within clear boundaries and professional standards
Support people to understand their rights and responsibilities
Maintain confidentiality while ensuring safety for all
