Package Description

Location: Repton Prep (3 days a week) and Repton Senior (2 days a week)

Contract Type: Permanent, all year round

Hours: 40 hours per week, to cover a rota pattern across Monday to Saturday during term time, and Monday to Friday outside of term time

Job Introduction

Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Electrician will join a small team of electricians to work proactively and deal with requests from the school users. Additionally, they will assist with installation works, deliver replacement and upgrade programmes and complete assigned planned maintenance tasks.

Main Responsibilities

Role Outcomes:

Carrying out daily/routine maintenance operations on various systems, equipment and appliances, including both single-phase and three-phase systems, lighting and alarm systems, etc.
Carrying out electrical installations and modifications.
Working on larger refurbishment projects as part of the team, including the wider Maintenance Team.
Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) across the estate to ensure all buildings remain safe, fully operational, and compliant with relevant electrical and safety standards.

About Repton School

Repton is the ancient capital of Mercia, and the School, founded in 1557 from a bequest from Sir John Port of Etwall, was established on the site of a 7th century Anglo-Saxon Benedictine abbey and latterly a 12th century Augustinian priory and the School today incorporates many of the original buildings from the estate.

The School has over one thousand pupils across the Prep and Senior School, making it large enough to achieve excellence in and out of the classroom, yet small enough for individuals to grow and succeed. Repton and Repton Prep have always enjoyed a very close relationship and in 2020, the schools became a through-school.
