Full job description

Role Overview

The Sports Facility Assistant is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the facility, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for customers using the four-lane cricket facility and two padel courts. The role involves opening and closing the venue, customer service, facility maintenance, stock management, and ensuring all areas meet high standards of cleanliness and health and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Facility Operations

Open and close the facility, including locking and securing all areas.
Carry out daily facility health and safety checks before opening, closing and throughout the day.
Inspect cricket lanes and padel courts to ensure they are safe, operational, and free from faults or damage.
Report and record any maintenance issues or health and safety concerns to the management ream

Customer Service

Welcome customers and provide excellent customer service.
Manage bookings and process customer payments.
Assist customers with enquiries regarding facility use, equipment, and services.
Ensure a positive experience for all visitors.

Equipment & Stock Management

Monitor and maintain stock levels of drinks, refreshments, and padel equipment.
Restock products as required.
Ensure cricket and padel equipment is stored safely and kept in good condition.

Cleaning & Housekeeping

Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the facility.
Clean and inspect toilets regularly.
Ensure tables, chairs, reception areas, and customer spaces remain clean and tidy.
Dispose of waste appropriately and maintain hygiene standards.

Health & Safety

Follow all company health and safety procedures, policies, and processes
Conduct routine safety inspections of facilities and equipment.
Report any inconsistences to the management team
Respond appropriately to incidents and accidents.
Provide first aid assistance when required.
Ensure emergency procedures are understood and followed.

Skills & Experience

Strong customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and take responsibility for the facility.
Good attention to detail and organisational skills.
Ability to identify and report maintenance and/or Health and Safety issues.
Basic cash handling and payment processing experience preferred.
Previous experience in a sports, leisure, hospitality, or customer-facing environment is desirable. I have moved this to your essential requirements as I believe it is for this role

Essential Requirements

A recognised and current First Aid at work and paediatric First aid Qualification.
Reliable, trustworthy, and punctual.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.
Previous experience in a sports, leisure, hospitality, or customer-facing environment.

Key Attributes

Friendly and approachable with excellent communication skills, having the ability to communicate at all levels and age groups
Must possess a proactive, flexible and self-motivated approach, ensuring The Sports Warehouse customers enjoy the facility.
A team player who can work well within a team setting or on an individual basis.
Professional and customer focused individual who has a genuine passion for creating a positive experience

This role requires both reference and DBS checks, the successful applicant will be subject to satisfactory checks
