Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Roofing Labourer to join our construction team. This role involves assisting with various roofing projects, ensuring safety standards are maintained, and supporting skilled tradespeople in completing high-quality roofing installations and repairs. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in construction work, physical stamina, and a willingness to learn new skills within the roofing industry.

Duties

Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of roofing systems using hand tools and power tools.
Prepare work sites by clearing debris and setting up scaffolding or safety barriers.
Handle heavy materials such as shingles, tiles, or metal sheets, ensuring safe lifting and manoeuvring.
Support carpenters, masons, plumbers, and other tradespeople on-site as required.
Follow schematics and technical drawings to ensure accurate installation processes.
Operate welding equipment when necessary for metal roofing components.
Assist with fabrication and cutting of materials using specialised tools.
Maintain a clean and organised work environment to promote safety and efficiency.
Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times during operations.

Requirements

Previous construction experience is preferred but not essential; willingness to learn is vital.
Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and basic fabrication techniques.
Knowledge of roofing systems, schematics, welding, carpentry, masonry, plumbing or related skills is advantageous.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
Good physical fitness with the ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
A proactive attitude with a focus on safety standards on-site.
Valid UK driving licence is desirable but not mandatory.
