About the Role

Saltwood Care Centre is looking for an experienced and reliable Painter & Decorator to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. Full Time 40hrs per week. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in delivering high-quality work while working sensitively within a busy nursing home environment.

You will be responsible for maintaining and improving the appearance of residents’ bedrooms, communal areas, corridors, offices, and other parts of the home, helping to create a welcoming, safe, and comfortable environment for our residents.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out internal painting and decorating to a high standard.
Prepare surfaces by filling, sanding, and priming where required.
Repair minor damage to walls, ceilings, woodwork, and other surfaces before decorating.
Complete work with minimal disruption to residents and staff.
Ensure all work areas are kept clean, tidy, and safe.
Follow health and safety procedures, including COSHH regulations.
Work independently and manage your workload effectively.
Liaise with the maintenance team and management to prioritise works.

About You

Previous professional painting and decorating experience is essential.
Good attention to detail and a high standard of workmanship.
Friendly, respectful, and considerate when working around elderly residents.
Able to work independently and manage time effectively.
Reliable, trustworthy, and flexible.
Basic maintenance skills would be an advantage but are not essential.
