Sous Chef – Café 21 Fenwick – Straight Shifts

Up to £39000

We have an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic Junior Sous Chef to join Café 21 situated in the iconic Fenwick department store.

The Candidate

Must have:

Outstanding organisational skills
Ability to prepare and serve food within a fast paced restaurant.
A critical eye for culinary detail
Positivity and determined attitude to succeed
Kitchen management experience
Confidence and passion about great food served well

The Role

Leading the team alongside our Head Chef. Maintaining culinary excellence for the restaurant whilst assisting in running the day to day operations including:

Purchasing
Staff training
Stock control

You will be working within a well-established kitchen team who provide a very consistent product to a high standard each day. All our dishes are skilfully prepared using the freshest seasonal ingredients available.

The Person

To be successful for the role of Sous Chef you will have:

Experience of working as a Snr Chef de Partie/Sous Chef using fresh ingredients and producing high quality food in a similar kitchen environment
Experience of running kitchens in the Head Chefs absence
An understanding of purchasing and controlling the food cost
Confidence, creativity and passion about good food served well.
Knowledge of classic cooking techniques
The ability to work well within a team, be hard working and have a positive work ethic
The ability to consistently meet customer expectations
A sound understanding of good food hygiene practices
An excellent command of the English language and a confident communicator
