Civil or Structural Engineer
We are seeking a Civil or Structural Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team. This role would suit someone with solid design experience who is looking to develop their technical skills, work on a varied range of projects, and contribute to project delivery while being supported by experienced colleagues. The successful candidate will be confident communicating with clients, architects, contractors, and wider project teams, and keen to continue developing within a collaborative engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
-Contribute to the delivery of civil & structural engineering projects from design through to completion.
-Support project workload, timescales, budgets, and technical outputs, escalating risks where required.
-Prepare calculations, specifications, method statements, temporary works information, and technical reports with appropriate support and review.
-Liaise with clients, architects, contractors, consultants, and internal teams to help resolve design queries, RFIs, and site issues.
-Work collaboratively with senior colleagues and contribute to internal design reviews, client meetings, site visits, and project progress updates.
-Follow quality assurance procedures across all engineering work.
About You
-Civil or Structural Engineer, Chartered or working towards Chartership preferred.
-Good technical knowledge of structural analysis and design, including hand calculations and software-based design.
-Working knowledge of British Standards, Eurocodes, Building Regulations Part A, and relevant contract forms including JCT.
-Experience designing with steel, concrete, masonry, and timber.
-Confident using common engineering software, including Tekla Tedds.
-Experience with FE software is desirable.
-Able to communicate clearly with clients, contractors, colleagues, and project stakeholders.
-Organised, proactive, and comfortable working within a multidisciplinary design environment.
Desirable Skills
-Ability to produce hand sketches and clear technical mark-ups.
-AutoCAD experience for project work.
-Experience preparing steelwork and concrete specifications, including familiarity with NBS specifications.
-Temporary works design or coordination experience.
-Some geotechnical engineering knowledge.
Civil Engineering Experience May Include
-Design of Sustainable Drainage Systems, surface water, and foul water drainage.
-Preparation and submission of SAB applications.
-Site level design, cut-and-fill analysis, and profiling.
Structural Engineering Experience May Include
-Structural stability design, superstructure design, and sway frame design.
-Foundation design, including shallow and deep foundations where applicable.
-Structural appraisal and assessment of existing buildings, including historic structures.
-Temporary works design and coordination where required.
