£29,000–£33,000 basic + tronc/tips (typically around £50 per week)

The Honingham Buck is looking for a Chef de Partie or Senior Chef de Partie to join our established kitchen team.

We're an award-winning, family-run country pub in the village of Honingham, just off the A47 and within easy reach of Norwich and Dereham.

We serve fresh, seasonal food using quality local produce, alongside the pub classics people actually want to eat. We're serious about producing good food consistently, but we're still a proper Norfolk pub at heart – and we don't believe a kitchen has to be miserable to be professional.

The Buck has a busy restaurant and bar, private dining and events, a large garden and eight B&B rooms, so there's plenty of variety.

The Role

We're looking for either an experienced Chef de Partie or a strong Senior CDP who is comfortable taking responsibility for a section and playing an important part in a busy service.

You'll work closely with our Head Chef and senior kitchen team, preparing and cooking fresh food to a consistently high standard.

Depending on your experience, you'll also have the opportunity to contribute ideas for dishes, help develop junior members of the team and take on additional responsibility within the kitchen.

What We're Looking For

Previous experience as a Chef de Partie, Senior CDP or an experienced Commis Chef ready to step up
Good all-round kitchen and section skills
Experience working with fresh food
Calm and organised during a busy service
Good standards of preparation, presentation and cleanliness
Good understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety
Reliable, punctual and prepared to work hard
Someone who genuinely enjoys being part of a kitchen team
A sense of humour – it definitely helps!
Ambition and a willingness to continue learning and developing

We're not looking for egos. We're looking for someone who enjoys cooking, takes pride in what they put on the plate and wants to be part of a good team.

What We Offer

£29,000–£33,000 basic salary, depending on experience

Plus tronc/tips – currently typically around £50 per week

We're also happy to discuss some flexibility around working hours and shift patterns for the right person.
