Job Summary

Join our dynamic kitchen team as a Kitchen Team Member / Trainee Commis Chef, where your enthusiasm and passion for food will help create memorable dining experiences. This entry-level role offers a fantastic opportunity to develop culinary skills, gain hands-on kitchen experience, and learn from experienced chefs. Whether you're just starting out or looking to expand your knowledge in a lively pub environment, this paid position is designed to support your growth in the culinary arts. You'll be an essential part of delivering high-quality meals, maintaining food safety standards, and ensuring smooth kitchen operations.

Responsibilities

Assist in food preparation and meal assembly under the guidance of senior kitchen staff
Learn and practice proper cooking techniques to prepare a variety of dishes
Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, utensils, and equipment in accordance with food safety standards
Support the team in serving food efficiently and courteously to guests
Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment for everyone
Help with inventory checks and stock replenishment as needed
Contribute positively to team efforts by staying motivated, punctual, and eager to learn

Experience

No prior professional kitchen experience required; enthusiasm for cooking and learning is essential
Basic understanding of food preparation and meal assembly preferred
Familiarity with food safety practices is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided
Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is a plus but not essential
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude are highly valued
