Peli BioThermal serves the pharmaceutical sector with temperature-controlled containers in a global rental business model. The service enables the global distribution of clinical trial and commercial pharmaceutical shipments with complete temperature control. Peli BioThermal owns the fleet of containers and makes them available to customers through a worldwide network of Service Centres and drop points. Pharmaceutical customers, or their transportation logistics providers, rent containers from these locations and return them to another location within our network.
The Logistics Planner and Coordinator assists in the management of the container fleet, by planning and shipping units to their required location with the objective of meeting the customers’ required container availability whilst ensuring that the container assets are efficiently utilised in a cost-effective manner. This position provides an opportunity to make a substantial contribution to the distribution of life-saving medicines, impacting a global patient population.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Forecast and planning to maintain the global availability of the rental container fleet and proposing network station inventory levels
- Execute and oversee multi-modal shipments for global fleet balancing from door to door.
- Preparing customs invoices and checking shipping documents.
- Develop operational relationships with logistics service providers and negotiate rates and terms.
- Ensuring data accuracy and updating database with day-to-day activities.
- Liaising with internal stakeholders, Network Partners and third-party warehousing for inventory reports.
- Raise contracts and purchase orders on SAP.
- Drive initiatives and strategies aimed at improving operational processes. Champion change in a rapidly growing area of the business.
- Following company policies and practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or applicable employment agreement. Following safety guidelines and procedures in accordance with the role.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience in international logistics across multiple modes of transport, land, sea, air.
- Working knowledge of customs regulations, Incoterms and shipping documentation.
- Practical experience of MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proactive problem-solving attitude and capability of optimising processes
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Experience with continuous improvement principles and how to apply them to process.
- Ability to identify and solve problems, think critically and creatively.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to translate data insights into practical applications.
- Experience of SAP or similar MRP/ERP system
