Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant/Dispenser to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will support the pharmacy operations by recommending over-the-counter medicines, accurately dispensing medications, assisting with patient care, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. Duties

Recommend over-the-counter medications
Assist pharmacists in dispensing prescribed medications accurately and efficiently.
Prepare and label medication orders in accordance with legal and safety standards.
Support medication administration processes, including managing stock levels and ensuring proper storage.
Provide excellent patient care by answering queries, offering guidance on medication usage, and maintaining confidentiality.
Ensure the pharmacy environment complies with health and safety regulations at all times.
Support administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and processing payments.
Assist in stock replenishment, checking expiry dates, and reporting shortages or discrepancies promptly.

Experience

Prior experience as a pharmacy assistant or in a similar role within a healthcare setting is desirable. However, training will be provided to the right candidate.
Knowledge of medication administration procedures and pharmacy operations is advantageous.
Experience in patient care, including providing clear communication and support to diverse patient groups, is preferred.
Familiarity with pharmacy software system (Proscript) will be considered an asset.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail are essential for accuracy in dispensing medications.
A commitment to maintaining high standards of confidentiality and professionalism is required.
