Job Summary

This is a hybrid role combining Property Area Supervisor responsibilities.

25% Maintenance Operative: Low-level maintenance tasks to support the property management responsibilities.
75% Property Management (Area-based): Oversee the operational delivery of property standards, housekeeping performance, and guest readiness across a defined portfolio.

The role actively contributes to Cornish Gems’ B Corp mission, embedding environmental, social, and community responsibility across all activities.

Key Tasks

Maintenance Operative (Secondary – 25%)

General Maintenance: Fix broken doors, windows, locks, and walls.
Plumbing: Repair dripping taps, clear blocked drains, and fix toilets.
Electrical: Change lightbulbs, replace sockets, and install smoke alarms.
Painting and Decorating: Paint interiors and exteriors, fill holes, and touch up woodwork.
Outdoor Upkeep: Clean gutters, jet wash patios, mow lawns, and repair fences.

Property Management & Area Supervision (Primary – 75%)

Support and, where required, lead the delivery of property standards across a defined area.
Coordinate and supervise housekeeping teams on changeover days.
Ensure properties are prepared, presented, and signed off as guest-ready.
Deliver and manage linen and utility logistics.
Conduct property inspections, inventories, and quality checks.
Identify and report maintenance issues promptly.
Ensure adherence to company standards, procedures, and cleanliness expectations.
Take joint responsibility for the health and safety of housekeeping teams.
Support the training and development of housekeeping staff.

Secondary / Support Responsibilities (Capacity Dependent)

Support and coordinate with the Maintenance & Compliance Coordinator, the Guest Experience team and the Portfolio team.
Assist with customer service interactions and complaint handling where required.
Assist with Out-of-Office phone support as required.
Contribute to improving guest experience and identifying service enhancements.

Key KnowledgeTraining will be provided to give you a comprehensive skill set in:

H&S legislation within holiday lettings.
Property maintenance processes and contractor coordination.
Luxury hospitality standards and expectations.
Environmental policies and responsible procurement.
Good business and financial awareness.
Cornish Gems’ systems and operations (or ability to learn quickly).
Proven experience in general maintenance or basic trades.
Proficiency with both hand and power tools.
