Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Private Client/Conveyancing Solicitor to join our legal team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert legal advice, drafting legal documents, and representing clients in various legal matters. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to develop their career within a reputable organisation, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong negotiation skills and a keen eye for detail, demonstrating integrity and professionalism at all times.

Duties

Providing clear and accurate legal advice to clients on a variety of issues
Drafting, reviewing, and amending legal documents such as contracts, wills, dispositions, C1, IHT400 and Executry paperwork.
Representing clients in negotiations, mediations, and other matters.
Conducting legal research to support case preparation and strategy
Managing case files efficiently and maintaining meticulous records
Liaising with clients, colleagues, and external organisations to facilitate smooth communication
Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and organisational policies
Adhering to strict deadlines and ensuring matters are concluded in timely manner and feed accordingly.

Experience

Qualified Solicitor with valid practising certificate recognised in Scotland
Proven experience in negotiation and client representation across various legal disciplines
Strong understanding of Scots and UK law, Tax Law, regulations, and procedural rules
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously
Demonstrable ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Effective communicator with competent written and verbal skills
Prior experience in Conveyancing, Executry Management, Contract Negotiation and Family Law would be advantageous.
Court experience would be advantageous but not essential.
Competence with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Office Programs
Experience with LawWare Care Management Software preferred but not essential
