Full job description

Production & Warehouse Assistant

We are a growing art publishing business based in Devon, producing and supplying artwork to independent retailers, galleries and trade customers across the UK, as well as our own portfolio of retail galleries.

We are looking for a hardworking, energetic and hands-on Production & Warehouse Assistant to join our busy team.

This is a fast-paced, practical role where you'll be involved in the production of our artwork from start to finish. You'll be working across different areas of the business, from preparing and finishing artwork through to packing orders, loading deliveries and making sure customers receive their orders accurately and on time.

What we're looking for:

We're looking for someone who uses their initiative and gets things done. You'll need to be naturally proactive, have a strong sense of urgency and be comfortable working at pace.

The ideal candidate will:

Have a can-do attitude and be willing to get stuck into whatever needs doing
Work quickly and efficiently without compromising on quality
Have a strong work ethic and take pride in doing a job properly
Be reliable, organised and able to work independently
Have good attention to detail, particularly when preparing customer orders
Be physically active and comfortable with a hands-on role
Be able to prioritise tasks and keep things moving during busy periods
Take initiative rather than waiting to be told what to do
Work well as part of a small team
Be willing to learn and take on new responsibilities as the business grows

The role

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Producing and finishing artwork to high standards
Preparing artwork for framing and dispatch
Packing trade and retail orders ready for delivery
Picking and checking customer orders accurately
Loading and unloading deliveries
Working to deadlines and ensuring orders leave on time
Maintaining a consistently high standard of work

No two days are exactly the same, and this isn't a role where you'll be doing the same task at a desk all day. You'll be on your feet at all times as an important part of a small team and will have a direct impact on keeping our production and customer orders moving.

Who would suit this role?

We're particularly interested in someone who likes being busy, takes pride in their work and doesn't need to be constantly told what to do.

If you're the type of person who sees something that needs doing and gets on with it, enjoys working at pace and takes satisfaction from getting through a busy day's work, we'd love to hear from you.

Experience in production, manufacturing, warehousing or a similar hands-on environment would be beneficial, but attitude, work ethic and willingness to learn are more important to us.

As the business continues to grow, there will be opportunities to take on more responsibility and develop within the company for the right person.

Pay: £12.71 per hour
