Job Overview

We are excited to be opening Little Lightkeepers Nursery, a warm, nurturing and coastal-inspired early years setting based in Portland, Dorset.

This is a wonderful opportunity for passionate and caring Level 3 Early Years Practitioners to join us at the very beginning of our new nursery journey and help shape a setting where children feel safe, confident, curious and ready to shine.

We want to create a calm, homely and inspiring nursery where children are valued as individuals and supported to grow through play, exploration, strong relationships and meaningful learning experiences.

We are looking for practitioners who are not only qualified and experienced, but who genuinely love working with young children and want to be part of a positive, supportive and nurturing team.

About the role

As a Level 3 Early Years Practitioner, you will play an important role in supporting the daily care, learning and development of children in line with the EYFS.

You will help create a safe, welcoming and engaging environment where children can build confidence, develop independence, form friendships and explore the world around them.

Your responsibilities will include:

Providing high-quality care and learning experiences for children
Supporting children’s personal, social and emotional development
Observing, assessing and supporting children’s progress
Helping to create a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment
Following nursery policies, procedures and safeguarding requirements
Working closely with families and the wider nursery team
Supporting routines, mealtimes, toileting, outdoor play, and daily activities
Helping to create a calm, happy and inspiring nursery environment

We are looking for someone who:

Holds a full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification
Has experience working in an early years or nursery setting
Is warm, nurturing, patient and kind
Understands the importance of safeguarding and child-led learning
Can build positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues
Is reliable, enthusiastic and willing to be part of a new nursery journey
Has a genuine passion for helping children flourish
Enjoys working as part of a team and contributing ideas
