Waking Night Residential Support Worker

Be the calm and consistent presence that helps children feel safe through the night. This role is ideal for someone who is reliable, observant, and understands that even the quiet hours can make a big difference.

Location: Chipping, Near Preston

Salary & Benefits

Hourly rate: £15.50 per hour

Approximate annual salary: £34,038.00

Performance bonus: up to £2,400.00 per year

Total annual earnings potential: up to £36,438.00

Shifts: 2 on 4 off rolling shift patten

What you'll do

Provide overnight supervision and support to children and young people

Maintain a safe and secure home environment throughout the night

Complete regular checks and respond appropriately to any issues that arise

Support children who may need reassurance or assistance during the night

Complete records, logs, and handovers accurately

Follow safeguarding procedures and company policies at all times

Contribute to a smooth handover with the day team

What we're looking for

Essential:

A genuine passion for working with children and young people ages 8-18

Ability to work waking night shifts consistently and responsibly

Good communication and record keeping skills

Ability to remain calm and respond appropriately in challenging situations

Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

12 months experience working in children’s residential care or a similar setting

Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or willingness to work towards it

Experience supporting children with emotional and behavioural needs

Safeguarding and safer recruitment
