Full job description

Help make the pallets and packaging that keep businesses across the South West moving.

We're hiring up to two Production Operatives to join our team, with immediate starts available. No packaging experience needed - full training is provided.

About us

APS Packaging is a family-run manufacturer based in Bideford, founded in 2000 and now one of the South West's leading packaging companies. From our 300,000 sq ft site we make wooden pallets, crates and export packaging for customers across the UK, using modern machinery including automated saws and CNC machines. We hold ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001, run the site on solar and biomass energy, and we're growing - which is why we need more people.

About the role

You'll work in our production team making pallets and crates - operating machinery, following production plans, checking quality and keeping your work area safe and tidy. It's hands-on, practical work in a team that looks out for each other, with proper training from day one and real routes to progress into machine, supervisory or specialist roles.

What you'll do

- Operate machinery and equipment in the production of pallets and crates

- Follow production plans and safety standards

- Inspect products to make sure they meet quality specifications

- Keep your work area clean and organised

- Help with loading and unloading materials

- Work with your team to hit production targets

- Report any issues or machine faults promptly

What you'll bring

- A reliable, motivated attitude - experience in manufacturing helps but is not required

- Good physical fitness - the role involves lifting and moving timber

- Attention to detail and pride in doing the job right

- The ability to work well in a team

- Willingness to learn and take on new skills

Hours and location

Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, at APS Packaging, Chubb Road, Bideford, Devon EX39 4HE. Immediate start dates available.

Pay: Up to £14.00 per hour
