Full job description

Park Hall Hotel & Spa is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with strong numerical skills, excellent attention to detail, and experience working within a fast-paced finance environment.

Reporting to the Finance Manager and supporting the Group Financial Controller, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Finance department by maintaining accurate financial records, supporting reporting requirements, and ensuring compliance with company procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out daily system checks, ensuring PM rooms, open folios, and Accounts Receivable accounts are monitored and closed promptly.
Prepare and distribute daily flash reports to management.
Verify financial reports and ensure transactions are accurately recorded within Opera PMS and Simphony POS.
Perform weekly financial control checks, including discounts, voids, management folios, and other internal controls.
Assist with invoice processing using Sage accounting software.
Support cost control initiatives by monitoring expenditure and identifying opportunities for improved financial efficiency.
Maintain accurate Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet postings.
Assist with stock reviews and inventory control processes.
Prepare weekly financial reports for the Finance Manager and Group Financial Controller.
Verify customer refund requests in line with company procedures.
Support finance system updates and departmental projects.
Provide administrative and financial support across the Finance department as required.
Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by the Finance Manager or Group Financial Controller.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant, or similar accounting role.
Good understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Desirable:

Experience using Sage Accounting software.
Experience using Opera PMS and/or Simphony POS.
Previous experience within the hospitality industry.
AAT qualification (or currently studying) is advantageous.
