Full job description

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and highly experienced Principal Lawyer to lead and support a team delivering high-quality legal services across areas such as adult social care, children's services, education and housing. The successful candidate will manage a high-level caseload, provide expert advice to senior officers and members, supervise and develop staff, and help drive continuous improvement across the service.

Skills

Exceptional communication skills with the ability to articulate complex legal concepts clearly and persuasively.
Demonstrated leadership capabilities with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
Analytical mindset with meticulous attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Substantial experience and specialist knowledge in at least one area of law covered by the team including: Adult Social Care/ Children Services/ Education or Housing

Education

Minimum 2:2 Honours Degree (anysubject) or equivalent Desirable
Practising Solicitor or Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive (ability to conduct litigation on behalf of the council) Essential
