What you’ll be doing
As a qualified Dispensing Optician, you will be providing a high level of customer care and expert advice to make a real difference to our customers and keep them coming back. You will work in one of our stores, reporting to the Store Manager.
Key responsibilities

Providing clinical support in store for regulated dispensing

Inspiring your Optical team by sharing your knowledge to offer the very best service.

Listening to the needs of customers and offer expertise and advice.

Helping our customers to choose the correct eyewear and offer guidance to ensure our customers receive the best product suited to their needs.

Supporting the team to deliver an efficient model day and operational processes to ensure that the business trades legally.

Providing expert knowledge for patients with more specialist requirements.
What you’ll need to have (our must-haves)-
Registered with the General Optical Council (GOC)

Passion for your own learning and development, completing all CPD training as part of the GOC requirement.

- Services delivered in store: Located within a busy Boots UK store on Worcester High Street, this established practice features 4 testing rooms and benefits from a strong clinical setup. The store offers the latest innovations, including Nuance Audio Glasses and Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses, alongside a broad range of frames and optical solutions to support an excellent patient experience.
- Team structure: You will be joining an experienced and supportive team consisting of 3 Resident Optometrists, a Pre-Registration Optometrist and 1 Dispensing Optician. This vacancy has arisen due to the previous second Dispensing Optician successfully progressing into a Contact Lens Optician role, highlighting the development opportunities available within the business.
The store operates Monday to Saturday, 9:00am–5:30pm, providing a consistent working pattern and excellent work-life balance. The collaborative team environment makes this an ideal opportunity for a Dispensing Optician looking to further develop their skills within a busy and well-supported practice.
