Full job description

Overview

We are seeking a passionate and energetic Nursery Room Supervisor to help lead and nurture our Children and staff.

In this vital role, you will oversee daily nursery operations, ensuring a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for young children. Your leadership will inspire staff, foster positive relationships with families, and uphold high standards of childcare and early childhood education. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children’s development while demonstrating strong management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Working with the existing management team
Be responsible for the safe and efficient opening and closing of the Nursery, and be responsible in the absence of the manager/ assistant manager
Supervise and partake in daily nursery activities, ensuring a safe, clean, and stimulating environment for children
Lead and motivate room staff, providing guidance, training, and support to maintain high-quality childcare standards
Help develop and implement age-appropriate educational programs that promote early learning and development
Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about their child's progress, needs, and daily experiences
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, licensing requirements, and company policies
Foster a positive team culture focused on collaboration, professionalism, and continuous improvement
Requirements
Level 3 in Childcare (minimum)
Proven leadership experience in childcare or early childhood education settings
Experience working with children in a nursery or preschool environment
Strong knowledge of Safeguarding
Strong understanding of child development principles and childcare best practices
Excellent communication skills in English; ability to connect effectively with children, parents, and team members
A genuine passion for nurturing young children’s growth and fostering a supportive learning environment
