About the role

As a Buyer at JCB, you’ll be responsible for managing supplier relationships and commercial activity across a portfolio of parts, services or categories that are critical to the business.

Working closely with engineering, manufacturing and supply chain teams, you’ll balance cost, quality, delivery and risk, ensuring the right decisions are made not just today, but for the long term. You’ll be encouraged to develop a strong understanding of the bigger picture, while staying close to day to day priorities.

At JCB, buyers don’t wait to be told what to do – they take ownership and see their decisions come to life on machines recognised around the world.

What does this role involve day to day?

You’ll manage supplier relationships to deliver security of supply, cost effectiveness and strong performance

You’ll work closely with engineering, operations and NPI teams to support product launches and ongoing production

You’ll lead or contribute to sourcing activity, negotiations and commercial decisions

You’ll identify and manage supply chain risks, supporting business continuity plans

You’ll contribute to continuous improvement across purchasing, suppliers and internal ways of working

Across all areas of the role autonomy, clear communication and effective decision‑making are key.

This will be suited to you if…

You have experience working in a purchasing or procurement role within an engineering or manufacturing environment

You bring strong commercial awareness and enjoy making informed decisions

You work well as part of a collaborative team and value shared success

You can balance multiple priorities in a fast‑moving environment

You take pride in delivering practical outcomes that make a real difference
