INTERNAL CFT VACANCY

The HERITAGE study is an NIHR funded study investigating the health effects from infection sequelae and aims to develop a national or modern service framework for high quality and cost effective specialist services for Long Covid, ME and Chronic Fatigue Service. This vacancy is an opportunity to work across two existing services to learn and develop your research skills adding to your existing research portfolio or AHP Pillars of Practice and help to improve patient care in the future. You will be fully supported by Principal Investigator, the Service leads and the CFT/RCHT Research and Development Team.

Please note: If you are an internal candidate and wanting to apply for this position as a secondment opportunity. Before applying, please ensure you have discussed the post with your current line manager and obtained their agreement to support your release for the duration of the secondment.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work proactively with agreed external agencies and collaborative partners such as CFT/RCHT research teams, the Cornwall & Isles of Scilly ME/CFS Service and the Cornwall & Isles of Scilly Post Covid Syndrome Service.

The individual will adhere to agreed activities, processes, and work stream and tasks of the project to derive accurate and robust data capture as follows:

WP1: Diagnostic overlap and outcomes – evaluate diagnostic overlap between LC and ME/CFS, capturing a variety of 6 monthly data points from 3 contrasting service models and non-clinic national cohort.

WP2: Economics and cost effectiveness – estimate healthcare utilisation and cost, specialist service pattern, productivity loss and caregiver burden, equity and cost-effectiveness of different LC and ME/CFS service models compared with outcomes and costs in non-clinic population.

WP3: Improving quality of care – Longitudinal case studies comparing service models and QIC with staff and patients to reduce stigma, improve equity of access, clinical management and service productivity. Inform National Service Framework (NSF) for LC and ME/CFS
