SANDHU MEAT & POULTRY UK LTD is a growing business involved in the wholesale and retail supply of meat and meat products. As the business develops, we are looking for a Management Consultant / Business Analyst to help us understand how the business is performing and identify practical ways to improve the way we work.
This is a hands-on business role. The successful candidate will work closely with the company directors and management team, looking at areas such as sales, purchasing, stock, suppliers, costs, customer demand and day-to-day business processes.
The purpose of the role is to provide clear and useful information to management, identify areas where the business can work more efficiently, and help put suitable improvements into practice.
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Work with management to understand the company's current business performance and identify areas that could be improved.
- Review sales, purchasing, stock and pricing information and explain important trends or changes to management.
- Look at the company's day-to-day processes and suggest practical ways to save time, reduce unnecessary costs and improve efficiency.
- Analyse sales and customer demand to help management make better purchasing and stock decisions.
- Review stock levels and purchasing patterns and identify areas where stock management could be improved.
- Assess supplier performance, pricing and purchasing arrangements and provide recommendations to management.
- Monitor business costs and margins and highlight areas where costs could be reduced or profitability improved.
- Prepare regular reports and summaries for the company directors and management team.
- Develop and monitor suitable business performance measures and KPIs.
- Investigate areas where actual business performance differs from expected results and suggest possible solutions.
- Carry out research into competitors, market conditions, customer requirements and changes within the meat and food sector.
- Help management assess new business opportunities and potential areas for growth.
- Assist with preparing business plans, forecasts and proposals for changes to the business.
- Review existing procedures and recommend improvements where necessary.
- Identify potential operational and commercial risks and discuss practical ways of managing those risks.
- Work with different members of the business to understand problems and gather information before making recommendations.
- Help implement agreed improvements and monitor whether those changes are delivering the expected results.
- Provide management with clear, straightforward advice based on business information and analysis.
- Keep accurate records of analysis, recommendations and business improvement work.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone who can understand how a business operates, work with information and turn that information into practical recommendations.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Business Management, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Operations, Supply Chain Management or a related subject.
- Previous experience in business analysis, management consultancy, commercial analysis, operations or a similar position.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to understand sales, financial and operational information.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and business reporting tools.
- The ability to identify problems and suggest realistic solutions.
- Good written and spoken communication skills.
- The confidence to work with company directors, managers, suppliers and other members of staff.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage several areas of work at the same time.
- The ability to prepare clear reports and explain findings to people who may not have a technical or analytical background.
Pay: £36,700.00 per year
