Job Overview

We are seeking a professional and personable Service Advisor/Receptionist to join our automotive service team. This role involves welcoming customers, managing appointments, and ensuring a smooth flow of communication between clients and the workshop. The ideal candidate will be a team player who is computer literate and possesses excellent customer service skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to confidently recommend additional work and services where required. This position offers an engaging environment where your organisational skills and mechanical knowledge can be utilised to enhance customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

Greet customers warmly upon arrival and ensure a positive first impression.
Manage customer appointments, including scheduling, confirming, and rescheduling as necessary.
Handle customer enquiries both in person and over the telephone with professionalism and courtesy.
Assist customers in understanding recommended services and additional repairs or maintenance when appropriate.
Process payments accurately, including cash handling and issuing invoices and receipts.
Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, service orders, and vehicle histories.
Liaise with the workshop to communicate customer concerns and service requirements effectively.
Keep the reception area tidy, organised, and welcoming at all times.
Carry out administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and updating customer information.
Proven experience in customer service roles, ideally within the automotive industry or similar environment.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
Mechanical knowledge or interest in vehicles is desirable to better assist customers with technical questions.
Cash handling experience with accuracy and integrity.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Friendly demeanour with a professional appearance and attitude.
Ability to work well and remain calm under pressure while providing outstanding service to clients.
High attention to detail
