Full job description

The Fleet Services Team are currently seeking Fleet Maintenance Technicians.

This is an exciting time to be joining the Communities directorate as we embark on a modernisation and transformational change to move our service into the modern age supporting and helping embed our green agenda with specific regard to our ‘Greening the Fleet’ aspirations.

Our ideal candidate will be an individual with previous experience of vehicle repair and maintenance of commercial vehicles, and an appropriate qualification in Motor Vehicle Technology. You should have a flair for diagnosing a wide range of vehicle faults; striving to go the extra mile with a “can do”, positive attitude to problem solving.

This is an extremely varied role whereby you will have the opportunity to work on multiple vehicle types, sizes and specifications.

In return, you will be supported in obtaining multiple qualifications and accreditations to support your future career development including IMI Level 2 / 3 In Electric Hybrid Vehicle System Repair, IRTEC Vehicle Inspections and nominated MOT tester status.

Due to the nature of the work you will need to have a flexible approach to your working hours.
This role requires you to be able to work the current shift pattern which includes early mornings (6am - 2pm), evenings (1pm - 9pm) and occasional weekends (which are optional and overtime rates apply).

A current full UK driving licence is an essential requirement for this role and holding Category Class C would be advantageous, however you would be supported in achieving this.

In addition to the training plan, you will also be provided with all the required tools, equipment and PPE to undertake your role.
