HGV Technician
Location: Near Lincoln
Pay Rate: Up to £25.00 per hour
Shift Options: Days | Alternating Earlies & Lates | 4 on 4 off
The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Technician to join a well-established commercial vehicle operation near Newark-on-Trent. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled technician looking for a permanent role offering flexible shift patterns, competitive pay, and long-term career stability.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out maintenance, diagnostics, servicing, and repairs on a fleet of heavy goods vehicles, ensuring all vehicles are maintained to the highest safety and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs on HGVs
- Carry out diagnostic fault-finding using specialist diagnostic equipment
- Complete vehicle inspections, safety checks, and MOT preparations
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults
- Ensure all work is completed in line with manufacturer guidelines and DVSA standards
- Accurately complete job cards and maintenance records
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to maximise vehicle uptime and workshop efficiency
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, or PSV Technician
- Strong knowledge of commercial vehicle maintenance and repair procedures
- Experience using diagnostic tools and fault-finding equipment
- Relevant qualifications such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent are desirable
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A proactive approach to health and safety and quality standards
