Job Summary

We are seeking a vigilant and professional Retail Security Officer to safeguard our premises, staff, and customers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring the store environment, preventing theft, and ensuring a safe shopping experience. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic retail setting, employing surveillance technology and security protocols to maintain a secure environment. The successful applicant will be attentive, proactive, and committed to upholding the safety standards of our organisation.

Responsibilities

Conduct regular patrols of the retail premises to deter theft and ensure safety.
Monitor CCTV systems continuously to identify suspicious activity or security breaches.
Implement loss prevention strategies by observing customer behaviour and intervening when necessary.
Respond promptly to incidents or emergencies, including medical situations, using first aid procedures when required.
Enforce store policies and procedures related to security and safety.
Maintain detailed incident reports and communicate effectively with management regarding security concerns.
Assist with crowd control during busy periods or special events.
Collaborate with local law enforcement or emergency services as needed.

Qualifications

Proven experience in surveillance, loss prevention, or security roles is desirable.
Knowledge of CCTV operation and monitoring techniques.
First aid certification is preferred but not essential; training can be provided.
Strong observational skills with keen attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform patrols across large retail spaces.
A responsible attitude with integrity and professionalism at all times.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings or weekends if required.
