Full job description

DSM Contract Lifting Services Ltd is looking for an organised and proactive Plant Movement Coordinator to join our Benfleet office.

You will work closely with the Plant Movement Divisional Director, Hire Desk Manager, and Transport Manager, providing administrative support and helping coordinate the division’s daily workload. You will ensure jobs, site visits, staff, vehicles, and paperwork are properly organised and efficiently managed.

Main responsibilities:

Coordinating plant movement and machinery relocation jobs
Providing administrative support to the Transport Manager
Managing diaries, meetings, site surveys, and follow-up actions
Confirming job dates, addresses, site contacts, access details, and equipment requirements
Liaising with customers, drivers, operatives, subcontractors, and site teams
Updating job allocations and information within our operational systems
Preparing job files, purchase orders, and supporting paperwork
Collating information required for RAMS and job planning
Chasing timesheets, delivery notes, photographs, and completed paperwork
Monitoring emails and calls and ensuring actions are followed through
Identifying scheduling clashes or missing information before they affect a job
Supporting the wider administration, compliance, and accounts teams when required

The ideal candidate will have:

Previous administration or coordination experience
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
A confident and professional telephone manner
Good written communication skills
The ability to manage several tasks and remain calm when plans change
Good working knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel
A practical approach and willingness to take ownership of tasks

Experience within plant hire, transport, logistics, construction, or a similar operational environment would be advantageous, but full training will be provided.

This is a permanent, office-based position in Benfleet.

Salary: £24,000–£25,000 per year, depending on experience

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm, with a 30 minutes unpaid lunch

Benefits include enrolment into the government workplace pension scheme and training within the specialist lifting and plant movement industry.

Pay: £24,000.00-£26,000.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:

Benfleet SS7 5SF: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Education:

GCSE or equivalent (preferred)

Experience:

Administration : 1 year (preferred)

Language:

English (preferred)
